Group

checkbook. The red and the black ones are signed Waterman, the ripple
pencil is not marked.

hard rubber

One collector told me these were checkbook pencils. Another thought they
were unfinished pencils or blanks. I don't think they are unfinished,
because you would put the trim on before you installed the pencil
mechanisms. |

Waterman die-cut "trade card" that was made after 1903 and before 1917
[using the address as a guide]. I know this card is sometimes called a
bookmark [and that may be true], but I am calling it a trade card here. It
measures 4" X 1 3/8". The spoon feed is cut to allow it to fold back. It
is in excellent condition but does have some minor flaws like light
creases and bumped edges. It is not mint. I guarantee this card to be
vintage and original. Not a repro. |

mint barrel transparency. It has a red #7 nib, which is a great nib. It
has been serviced and it is a good smooth writer. There is no base. Fully
restored pen.

Lever Filler [really these pens are bulb fillers]
This is a nice writing pen that fills quickly and the pen also empties out
quickly. It is working just the way it should. This is a nice writing pen
with a smooth nib. There is no base. The Ink-Vue desk pens are very
scarce. This pen has threads on the barrel, but I don't think it was part
of a convertible set, I just think they didn't want to make a special
barrel for these pens like they did with most of their desk pens [they
usually don't have threads]. |

Waterman 52V hard rubber display fountain
pen that was made in the USA in 1920s. These pens were made
out of rejected parts from the Waterman factory. The cap on this
pen is chipped on the back and the cap is glued right on the barrel.
These were made to provide display pens for window displays were
sunlight would harm a good pen and also to reduce the risk of a pen
being stolen [the thief would only end up with a piece of junk]. It has
the original price band on the barrel.

Waterman 412 eyedropper fill fountain
pen with sterling silver filigree overlay. It was made in the USA &
measures 5 3/8" long. It is a clipless model (never had a clip).
The hard rubber has a glossy black finish. There is a small amount of
oxidation in some of the filigree openings on the cap. There are no
engravings. The 412 is still strongly imprinted on the bottom of the
pen, but the pen has no Waterman marking around the bottom of the
barrel. It is marked Waterman on the overlay. The pen has a good
Waterman #2 eyedropper nib. The nib is a medium full flex. The pen
writes smooth and wet. This is a nice example of a classic Waterman
eyedropper pen. It is not mint, but it doesn't show a lot of use. |

|
Waterman fountain pen that was made in the USA in the 1940s. It is made of white plastic with gold filled trim. It is lever filled. This is the shorter version of this pen at 4 7/8" long. It has no barrel or cap imprint [which is common on these pens]. The nib is a Waterman # 2 broad flex. The pen is restored. It fills properly.
It writes smooth and wet. There is a flaw up near the clip in the plastic.
It is either an age crack, a deep scratch or a factory flaw.
You will see it in the close-up at the top of the cap. It is a great pen, but it does have that one flaw.
