This pen has never been used. The nib may have been dipped in ink once, but the barrel transparency is perfect.  It is hard to find this set with nice trim, the nickel just didn't hold up on used pens. This set has not been serviced and I doubt if it will draw ink. This is a collectors set, not a user set.

Sheaffer advertising calendar from 1918. It measures 8 1/2" X 15 3/4". It is cardboard with the original calendar pad intact [one page for each month]. It is near mint with some minor bumps on the corners and some very light creases. It is marked Frank Magill Chicago which is the calendar manufacturer. This calendar was given away by Sheaffer to dealers. It is in great condition and has a great print of a beautiful young girl.  This is a great piece of art and an important piece of Sheaffer ephemera. The print is a great representation of 1918. This calendar came from the collection of an old time calendar and advertising collector. The former owner probably bought it 40 years ago and had no interest in pens,  it was just a nice old calendar to him. Guaranteed original!  Not a reproduction.  $500.00

This is a nice example of a large hard rubber Sheaffer fountain pen.  I think they made one size larger than this pen, but this is an oversize pen. It is a good smooth writer, don't be afraid of that big fine nib being scratchy.  No oxidation. This pen was not used much.

This pen has never touched ink. The pen and pencil both have white dots, but the nib is not a lifetime. I think by this time the white dot was no longer a sign of a lifetime guarantee. Sheaffer pencils rarely had the white dot while the lifetime guarantee was in place, so I'm sure this set is correct.

Sheaffer fountain pen that was made in the USA in the 1930s. This is a Sheaffer Jr pen, which was sold at a lower cost with nickel plated trim. These pens are just like a balance pen, but for some reason they decided to make these with flat ends like the pens from the 1920s. The barrel was plugged to make it flat and the cap has a top cap about 6mm thick.

Sheaffer  1st year Crest fountain pen that was made in the USA in 1937.  It is a lever fill pen and it has been serviced. The Crest pen was one of the first pens to have a metal cap with a plastic barrel. This is the 1st year model of the Crest with a threaded section that the cap screws down onto instead of the barrel having the threads. This pen has a screw in section. I'm not sure what perecentage had screw in sections and how many had slip in sections. The slip in sections were earlier, but Sheaffer switched over to screw in [sections] so the sections would not be prone to spining around when you tightened the cap too hard.

This pen has the white dot on the bottom point of the barrel. Usually they had it at the top end of the lever. It is not a mint pen. It is a decent writer but it is nothing great.  The cap does thread on well.

This is an interesting Sheaffer lower line pen. Much less common than the Wasp or Vacuum lines.  Good smooth writer, even with a steel nib.  There is no country of origin on it, it may be Canadian, but they just seemed to forget to mark it.
