Sheaffer  1st year Crest fountain pen that was made in the USA in 1937.  It is a lever fill pen and it has been serviced. The Crest pen was one of the first pens to have a metal cap with a plastic barrel. This is the 1st year model of the Crest with a threaded section that the cap screws down onto instead of the barrel having the threads. This pen has a screw in section. I'm not sure what percentage had screw in sections and how many had slip in sections. The slip in sections were earlier, but Sheaffer switched over to screw in [sections] so the sections would not be prone to spinning around when you tightened the cap too hard.

This pen has the white dot on the bottom point of the barrel. Usually they had it at the top end of the lever. It is not a mint pen. It is a decent writer but it is nothing great.  The cap does thread on well.

Great pen and near mint. I removed the old bladder, but I did not install a new one. A pen like this should not be inked and used, it is too important to keep it unused. I found something interesting when I pulled the section out. The original bladder was not seated properly on the section. The pen would not draw ink, even when it was new and that is the reason it is still unused. The Wasp nibs were usually not marked as to gold content. I did test one one day and it turned out to be 18K gold. Someone else had told me that they are usually 9K gold. Either way, it is a fine example of a Wasp pen. Please don't email me and ask me to install a bladder in it, I won't do it.

Sheaffer balance fountain pen that was made in the USA in the 1920s. This is one of the rarest of Sheaffer color, the blue and black marbled plastic [Radite] with white streaks. A beautiful Sheaffer in a rare color. It is a good writer, but not a great one. The 5-30 nib is proper for a non-lifetime model like this one. The barrel is slightly darker than the cap and the end of the cap and the end of the barrel and a tiny bit lighter than the rest of the pen. These are all typical traits of the balance pens. Overall the color is still stunning.

Sheaffer oversize fountain pen that was made in the USA in 1920s. It is a lever fill  pen and it has been serviced and it is a good smooth writer. Great color but the barrel is somewhat darker than the cap. There is a hairline on the side of the cap, it is very hard to see and you can't see it on the inside of the cap. This is an interesting Sheaffer lower line pen. Much less common than the Wasp or Vacuum lines.  Good smooth writer, even with a steel nib.  There is no country of origin on it, it may be Canadian, but they just seemed to forget to mark it.

Vintage Sheaffer Snorkel fountain pen that was made in the USA in the 1950s.  It has a factory triple broad Triumph nib. I have been told that most Snorkel Triumph nibs are fine to medium and that broad nibs made up less than %1 of total sales.
