NYC. Julius Schnell was a parts maker
selling barrels, caps and complete pens to companies like Conklin and Dunn.
He was involved in a few pen companies like Bankers Pen Co but his greatest
moment was his own
Schnell Penselpen. This fountain pen / pencil combo had the greatest styled
clip of pendom, the airplane clip. It also had his slide filler mechanism
he developed 10 years earlier [used on the Bankers Pen Co Master line]. High quality plus great styling [mainly the
clip]. Schnell claimed to have invented the fountain pen, invented the
pen/pencil combo and he also claimed to have made pens by the thousands for
other pen companies. I guess some of it was true but he also seemed to be
prone to a little exaggeration. |
