company famous for their wood pencils sold fountain pens of low to medium
quality. In the 1940s they offered their Permapoint line of fountain pens.
These were made to compete with Esterbrook and their interchangeable nibs
but they were more of a repair than a real option. The Permapoint offered
a "renewal unit" which was the nib, feed, section and bladder. You
unscrewed this whole unit from the pen and screwed in another one. This
was their system of replacing a bad nib or a hardened bladder. The
renewal units were sold in stores for 35-50 cents. This was a fix it
