AT Cross began in 1846 by Alonzo T. Cross. Their original products
were mechanical pencils and some other related pieces. In the
1870s
they began selling their stylographic fountain pen which was
basically the same as the Mackinnon pen with some modifications. Traditional
eyedropper filled fountain pens [with gold nibs] were sold starting in 1885.
I believe they dropped out
of the fountain pen business before 1910 but did come out with a new
line of pens in the 1930s to augment their new streamlined pencils.
