538 Clark St Chicago 1920-1923
The Chicago
Safety Pen Co was started using the leftover parts and pens from the AA
Waterman company. There seems to have been an overlap between the 2 events,
since AA Waterman pens were still being sold in the early 1920s. While
AA Waterman's last pens were twist fillers, Chicago Safety decided to go with
a more conventional lever filler. They did sell off the remaining AA
Waterman pens some of which had been remarked "Resevo", "AA" or "Chicago
Safety". They seemed to have been a little behind the times selling
pens that were designed 10 years earlier.
