Carey Pen Company

196 Broadway
1361 Broadway
1433 Broadway        1915
New York City

Carey never seemed to advertise much but they did sell some beautiful overlay fountain pens. Their overlays rivaled the best from Waterman and Parker, but probably didn't sell outside of the NY, Boston and Philadelphia areas [where they had offices]. Their pens all seem to be eyedropper fill with some middle joint pens. They made very few pens that weren't overlays. Carey was involved in repairs and selling other brands of pens, so he probably was just assembling pens from parts purchased around New York City rather than being a manufacturer. I believe the only clip I've ever seen on a Carey was a VV clip with the Carey marking. One other interesting trivial fact about Carey is some of their pens have the price imprinted on the barrels.
