Ajax Fountain Pen Company

1951 Sparks St      [?]             1920s
Overhill & Forest Hills sts    1935
Philadelphia
This fountain pen company was located in Philadelphia and started in the 1920s.  The owner was John Lehn a former shipyard laborer. Lehn immigrated from Austria and was selling pens under the Ajax name when he was in his 20s. Most [or all] of their pens are flat top lever fillers. They have barrels imprints and signed nibs. Some hard rubber pens, but most seem to be celluloid.  Medium [or lesser] quality pens.  John Lehn probably just purchased parts and assembled them, it doesn't appear that he had a factory or any employees. A fairly large amount of his pens are mandarin yellow celluloid.
