| Toledo Ohio. Started around 1898 they
made their mark with an early self filling pen that actually worked. Their
Crescent fill pen was a bladder pen that used a small crescent shaped
protrusion on the side of the barrel for filling. This pen carried the
company for 2 decades. They followed this up with lever fillers which were
hi quality but basically the same as the pens being sold by many different
companies. Their next pen was the Nozac piston filling pens that are
considered their high water mark of color and innovation. They were bought
out by a Chicago pen company who sold junk pens and after selling off the
remaining stock and using up all of the original parts, simply put the
Conklin name on their own line of crappy pens. These Chicago pens should be
avoided unless you just like them for what they are, cheap colorful pens
with no real merits. |
