Vintage Parker letter opener and ruler.
These were made in 1905 as a companion piece for their aluminum
overlay eyedroppers. Aluminum was considered a rare metal at the
time and a bit of a novelty. Their use of aluminum as an overlay
material was not a way to make a cheaper overlay, aluminum was
quite expensive at the time. It is a letter opener and ruler and
it does show a lot of use. Obviously it is 6" long.

This is a nice example of a classic fluted Parkette. The
trim shows a little wear, but most of the Parkette pens have terrible
trim and they often have loose cap bands, so actually this pen is
outstanding in comparison. |

Parker Parkette fountain pen and pencil set
from the 1930s. It is lever fill, which is rare in Parker pens.
The plastic is burgundy and black marbled plastic just like the
Duofold streamlined pens. The set is in good used condition.
They are both missing one of the 2 bands that were up near the
top of their caps. The other band is also loose on the pen.
There are some chew marks up near the top. The pen has not been
serviced. It has a good 14K Parkette nib. There is trim wear.
Not a mint set. Just a hard to find set in good condition. This
pen is notorious for having a missing clip. |
