This is a very uncommon Diamond Point pen. There is a little shrinkage of
the barrel just below the barrel threads but it is acceptable. I did see
it listed in a catalogue, but I can't remember the exact year. It fills
with 5 squeezes and it empties at the same rate. The transparent part of
the barrel is celluloid. Nice smooth writer. |

Peerless fountain pen that was made in the USA in the 1930s. The color
of the pen is a swirly cherry red and coral with black veins running
through it like the cracked ice style patterns. Peerless was never known
for hi-grade pens and this pen has great color, but it is not a great
quality pen. It is a nice smooth writer. It is a lever fill
pen and it has been serviced.

This is a great example of a low priced pen that had great
color. Beautiful and unusual color. This pen was made from spiral wrapped
celluloid tubes, but they rounded the edges to make it look a little
streamlined. This was a last ditch effort to try and use old tubes to make
pens to compete with the streamlined pens that came out in the late 20s. |

Juco Independent fountain pen that was made in the USA between 1905
-1910. Juco stood for J Ullrich & Co , which was a pen maker in NYC.

oxidation.

This is a near mint pen that never got inked. I would guess that Ullrich
made 1 nibbed pen for every 100 stylographics he sold. This pen never had
a clip, no holes. |

Superite ladies ringtop fountain pen
and pencil set that was made in the USA in the 1920s. It is near mint and
comes in the original box. Superite pens were made by DeWitt LaFrance
and basically became the Carter line of fountain pens. Check the close-up
of the lever with the bar mounted beneath, compare it to a Carters lever.
It is 18K green gold filled with no wear. The pen and pencil have a
really nice even patina, so I did not polish it, it looks too good just
the way it is. I don't think this set was ever really used, it had been
filled a few times but it shows no signs of real use. The pen has been
serviced and the pencil does work.
Maker: Superite
Year: 1920s
Country of Origin: USA
Cap Material: gold filled

Travelers
oversize fountain pen that was made in the USA in the 1920s. This pen may
have been made by Eclipse, or at least the lever looks like an
Eclipse lever. The color is silver pearl laminate, like a Parker
Vacumatic but swirled instead of just horizontally lined. It is a lever
fill pen and it has been serviced and it is a good writer.
Maker:
Travelers
Size: oversize
Color: silver pearl swirl
Year: 1920s
Country of Origin: USA
Cap Material: plastic
Barrel Material: plastic

slight point]

was gold washed]

has some minor marks

This is a great example of an off-brand
oversized pen. Very unusual swirled pearl laminate. This pen was made from
spiral wrapped laminate sheet. It is a good writer, but nothing great. |

This is a nice hard rubber combo. The names PenNpencil and Twinpoint both
make you think that this was a prolific combo maker, but there pens just
aren't that common. It makes me think that they were making parts or pens
for other companies. The pen writes smooth. The thin band separating the
pencil barrel and the pen barrel appears to be rippled hard rubber. The
pencil does work. |

10
Year Pen thumb fill fountain pen that was made in the USA after 1905.
The pen is marked with George B Graff as manager of the company. I
did a quick search and found that he owned the Graff pencil sharpener
company and I guess he was trying to get into the fountain pen field
with this pen.

Imprint Condition:
weak in spots but it is readable
Filling System:

This is a uncommon pen. Graff sold pencil sharpeners and decided to sell
some pens also. I don't know if the "10 Year" markings meant it was
guaranteed for 10 years, but it sounds like a good guess. There is no
iridium on the nib, but it is a good smooth writer. The pen is oxidized
and the chasing is worn. There was a slip on clip on the cap and as usual
it has wreaked havoc with the cap leaving some dents and some spots that
aren't oxidized where it was sitting. The pen fills properly but the
floating pressure bar could conceivably come out of place since it has no
anchoring to keep it there. The bottom half of the barrel will pull right
off because he did not include any kind of stop to prevent it. Overall not
a bad design, but it could have used a bit more improvement. |
