This isn't a mint example, but it is a good solid pen. There is some mild oxidation on the pen. The Lipic nib is probably a replacement, but it is a St Louis nib in a St. Louis pen. It may have been a repair done at a local repair shop or maybe a pen sold with no guarantee [and a Lipic nib may have been used as a warranted nib?]. It does have the Eisenstadt signed clip and their unique reversed lever which are the reason most people want an Eisenstadt.  The extra fine nib does not make this pen a great writer. It does write without skipping or digging into the paper, but it is not a great writer.

This is a nice clean pen from a New York pen maker who made some nice solid pens. This pen is a really smooth writer. The script logo on the clip reminds me of the style done in the 1800s. The barrel has raised threads.

Postal ladies ringtop fountain pen that was made in the USA in the 1920s. It has a jade green plastic cap and barrel blind cap and the barrel is transparent Bakelite. I think 99% of the Postal pens were black with a couple green and bronze/black pens thrown in. The barrel is a yellowish color from age [I think they were originally crystal clear]. These pens were called Postal because they were sold in a program like a pyramid scheme, you tried to sell them to your friends and got a commission on the sales, so in the end you would get your pen for free. These are a classic high quality pen.   It has been serviced and it is a good writer. Near mint condition.

Maker: Postal
Model: ladies
Color:  jade green
Year:  1920s
Country of Origin:  USA
Cap Material:  plastic
Barrel Material:  plastic
Cap Style:  screw on
Trim Material:
gold filled
Length with cap on: 4 5/8"
Nib Marking:
Postal pen 14K
Nib Material:  14K Gold
Nib Flexibility: good flex
Nib Width (tip) medium
Working Condition: It has just been serviced
Scratches or Cracks: none
Engravings:   None
Plate wear: there is some wear but it is all minor
Imprint: Postal Reservoir Pen NY
Imprint Location: cap
Imprint Condition: perfect
Filling System: bulb Filler

This is a good writing pen. Excellent condition. The bottom half of the barrel is discolored, I believe this is from the old bladder which was stuck to the inside of the barrel.  If you are not familiar with the bulb filling pens, you unscrew the bottom half of the barrel and there is a bulbous bladder. You squeeze the bladder and you can see the ink fill into the Bakelite part of the barrel. This pen holds a lot of ink. 4 squeezes filled it halfway.  It fills and empties quickly and efficiently. I like bulb fillers, simple and very functional.

Country of Origin:  USA
Barrel Material:  hard rubber
Trim Material: gold filled
Length:  2 1/2"

Scratches or Cracks: there is a crack in the cap lip running up to the cap band, there are various nicks
Engravings:   None

It may be cracked, but I don't think you will ever see another one. I screwed it onto a barrel and it threaded on with no problems.

Stratford fountain pen that was made in the USA in the 1940s. It is made to look like a rifle cartridge. It is 5 3/16" long and lever filled. It has a gold plated Stratford nib. These were very cheap novelty pens and are not good quality. They are always warped because of the cheap plastic used and the barrel are usually bent from the pressure bar. This one has some distortion to the barrel, but overall it is fairly straight. I remove the old bladder, but did not install a new one. I really wanted to remove the pressure bar [j bar] to help preserve the pen, but I decided to leave it in. The clip has a very thin gold wash when it was new, but now it is just bare steel with some light surface rust. The pen appears unused, but it is far from mint. These are hard to find in good condition and I would rate this pen as being in good condition, but not any better. Unrestored and not working. $75.00
P453 p453.jpg (19041 bytes) Box for a Paul Wirt fountain pen. It is mint unused and was leftover stock from the factory. It measures 4 3/8" long. It comes with the original eyedropper in it.   $40.00
P361 p361.JPG (7662 bytes)  Winchester Fountain Pen in red swirl plastic - 4 15/16", plunger fill, appears to be unused. Trim has some tarnish. Low quality pen with a good name. Unrestored.  $60.00

Vintage Girl Scout fountain pen that was made in the USA in the 1950s by Stratford.  It is green plastic with a gold tone cap. It has the Girl Scout hot stamped on the barrel. The pen has not been serviced. I do not know if it works. There is a small crack right above the emblem. Not a great quality pen, but it is a nice vintage Girl Scout pen. $65.00
