This
Pencyclopedia is an ongoing project. This is not just a list of pen
companies. These are links to pages with pen company histories. Our goal is to eventually have a
complete list of US fountain pen manufacturers with a brief history &
photos of the fountain pens each company made.
I am always hoping to contact any family members of former fountain pen
company owners or workers. Email me or call me. I am very interested in the
histories of the smaller [and neglected] pen companies.
At this time all of the companies listed below in blue are links to a page
that is exclusively dedicated to that company. Those pages already have
some company history (at least a start). Several of them also have pen
photos added already. We are continually adding more photos & information.
Once the photos are all in place & captioned, we will most likely start
adding vintage pen ads and catalog illustrations. We have a huge collection
of old catalogs & other related ephemera & would eventually like to share it
all. So, please hang in there. It's going to take some time to
get it all scanned, photographed, formatted & uploaded.
We would like this to be much more than just the usual list of companies you
might be able to find somewhere else. In the end, our hope is that anyone
interested in a U.S. fountain pen company will be able to find some
information and a few photos - not just a list of names.
The dates listed next to addresses are the addresses I have been able to
confirm through directories or advertising. The address dates are not
complete and I will be trying to complete the timeline of addresses as I go
along.
This should not be considered a
list of ALL US pen manufacturers. It is simply all we have been able
to get listed so far
