fill [lock-down filler]
Smooth writing pen in great condition. The nib is very smooth and
the pen is a really good writer. The trim is excellent, especially
considering how easily the nickel trim on these pens wore to
brass. The barrel transparency is excellent even though it has
ambered along the way. The barrel transparency on the pens in this
color actually made them look odd when empty. When they are full
of ink, the barrel and cap match much better. This is a great
example of a 30s Vacumatic. |

Vacumatic 1.
Imprint Location:
barrel
Imprint Condition:
excellent
Filling System: vac
fill [speedline filler]
Smooth writing pen in great condition. Don't fear the fine nib in
this pen, it is a nice smooth writer. The top jewel is striped and
the bottom jewel is not. This is original and correct on this pen.
Parker decided to cut costs on the double jewel Vacs by not having
a screw in jewel on the bottom. The "jewel" on these pens is
actually the blind cap. They just machined the solid blind cap to
accept the tassy which was then pressed on. This saved the time
and expense of making a jewel and the threading the blind cap. If
you look very closely at it, you can actually see the laminations
just like in the rest of the pen. Good barrel transparency
[ambered]. Nice solid pen. |

Parker Vacumatic pencil that was made in the USA in the
1937. It is an emerald [green] pearl standard size pencil with a
striped jewel. Some of the Vacumatics of the late 30s had the cap
band that is more commonly associated with the 1940s Vacs. This is
the pencil to match one of those so-called transitional pens. It
has the 1937 date code, so it must be one of the first ones in
this style. It has the striped jewel and is the thick 30s style
pencil with the removable lead cartridge inside. Ready to write.

Original Parker lead cartridge that was
meant as a replacement for a Vacumatic pencil from the 1930s.
The Vacumatic pencils from the 1930s had this tin lead holder
inside. This was a throw-away item back then. This one comes in a
small capped tin and the cartridge still has it's lead inside plus
an unused eraser. It also comes with a spare eraser. There is a
"F" on the cap, but it is not for fine lead, it is for firm lead.
It has the groove on one side and your pencil should have a small
bump on the inside of the tube for the groove to position on. |

Parker Vacumatic Secretary fountain pen
barrel from the Imperial line that was made in the USA in the
1930s. This is a near mint barrel. I do not have a cap. It takes
the cap with the little ball on the top. I don't think this was
ever used. There is some residue in the barrel, it may be from the
diaphragm touching the barrel or it may have been tested once. It
has a lock down filler, but the end of the filler is small like a
speedline filler end cap. I am guessing most people know how
rare this is. If you have one with a beat up barrel or you have
the cap, this is your chance.
